Fruela II was born in 0875.  Fruela II's father was Alfonso III (King of Leon, Galacia, Asturias) and his mother was Elvira Menéndez.  His paternal grandparents were Ordoño I (King of Asturias) and Muniadona. He had two brothers named García I and Ordoño II.  He was the youngest of the three children.  He died at the age of 50 in 0925.
