Edward VIII was born in 1894. Edward VIII's father was George V (King of the UK) and his mother was Mary of Teck. His paternal grandparents were Edward VII (King of the UK) and Alexandra of Denmark. He had four brothers and a sister, named George VI, Henry, George, John and Mary. He was the oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 78 in 1972.General Notes
