Ursula D'Oyly, who was induced to elope with Thomas Young, Esq. of Newington, co. Oxon., "a handsome, accomplished young man, and descended from an ancient Oxfordshire family," No settlement was thus made on either side; and though Miss D'Oyly was as amiable as imprudent, dissensions arising (it has been said), the marriage did not prove a very happy one to either party; and she died in childbirth January 1731 of twins, a son and a daughter. Mr. Young survived her, and married secondly, her distant relative Arabella, dau. of Sir Michael Biddulph, Bart. (by Elizabeth his wife, daughter of William D'Oyly, Esq. of the Turville branch), and by her also had issue. But by Ursula D'Oyly, his only issue were the twins,
1. John Young, Esq. of Canterbury, afterwards of Hare Hatch House, co. Berks, who, about 1779, married Frances, sister of Adolphus Meetkirke, Esq. of Julien, co. Herts, and. daughter of Adolphus Meetkirke, Esq. of Bath, whose ancestor Sir Adolphus Meetkirke, President of Flanders, came to England ambassador, temp. Elizabeth, and settled in this country. Mr. Young died in 1798, æt. 67, leaving issue by this lady; and one of his sons is the present J. A. Young, Esq. of Great Ormond Street, London.[385]
