Clara was born in 1883 in Elton.¹

Birth Notes

Clara's father was John Taylor and her mother was Peggy (Margaret) Scowcroft Mather. Her maternal grandparents were Solomon Mather and Jane Scowcroft. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Arthur, John, Jane, Elizabeth and Amelia. She was the second youngest of the six children.
