Allan, known as Allin, was born on July 3rd, 1828 in Berry Brow and his baptism took place on August 5th, 1828 at Berry Brow Salem NC.1  Allin's father was William Stocks and his mother was Eliza Croft.  His paternal grandparents were Charles Stocks and Sally (Ann) Tiffany. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Hamor, Charles, Sarah, Mary, Martha and Ann.  He was the second oldest of the seven children. He had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Oldfield, Luke, Alexander, Hannah, Martha and Eliza.  He died at the age of 68 in 1896 in Victoria (Au).2

‌Allin and Jane were married in a religious ceremony in April 1853 in Huddersfield.  They had a son named Hamor.  There are possibly more children.
