Harry was born on February 17th, 1889 in Ashton-in-Makerfield and his baptism took place there on March 10th, 1889.¹²

Harry's father was Henry Morris and his mother was Anne Wood. His maternal grandparents were Henry Wood and Alice Naylor (Littler). He had two brothers and four sisters, named John, Percy, Jane, Margaret, Ellen and Annie. He was the second youngest of the seven known children.
