Ellen was born on April 26th, 1886 in Ashton-in-Makerfield.1  Ellen's father was Henry Morris and her mother was Anne Wood.  Her maternal grandparents were Henry Wood and Alice Naylor (Littler). She had three brothers and three sisters, named John, Percy, Harry, Jane, Margaret and Annie.  She was the fourth oldest of the seven known children.  She died at the age of 79 on December 8th, 1965 in New Zealand.2
