John was born on June 1st, 1831 in Saltney and his baptism took place on June 26th, 1831 in Hawarden.1 2  John's father was Edward Millington and his mother was Hannah (Ann) Dunn.  His paternal grandparents were John Millington and Ann Shaw. He had five sisters named Mary, Ann, Jane, Elizabeth and Rachel.  He was the second oldest of the six children. He had a half-brother named Edward.  He died at the age of 32 in 1863.  His burial was in 1863 in Hawarden.
