John's father was John Millington and his mother was Mary Connah.  His paternal grandparents were John Millington and Margaret Youd. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, William, Edward, George, Charles, Rachel, Margaret, Mary and Elizabeth.  He was the second oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 65 on January 7th, 1844 in Pentrobin.²
