John Mather

John was born in September 1857 in Sharples.¹

John's father was Ralph Mather and his mother was Ann Mayoh. His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Jane Entwistle. He had four brothers and two sisters, named James, Ralph, Alfred, Thomas, Emma and Agnes. He was the oldest of the seven children. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named James, Margaret, Jane and Margery. He died at 3 months old in December 1857 in Sharples.¹
