General Notes
Illegitimate as father missing from baptism. Living in Nobel Street with "parents" John and Ann in 1841, aged 15. John, Thomas and Wright were all Cotton Bleacher apprentice.
21 April 1845, John was witness to his sister Mary's marriage to John Guest.
In 1851, living with wife Loah (23) and her parents (59 & 60) at 12 Sweet Green, East Bolton
When David Eliz & Alfred baptised 1849-55, John was a Crofter and a finisher when both Mary Ann baptised in 1851 and 1863. On the 1861 census he is a Crofter at the Cotton Bleach Works.
From 1857 to 1864, John and Lolita had four children but the all died as infants. They may have then decided to adopt Edwin.
John was a finisher in 1871 and 1881,
Married 1848, finisher, son of John a Weaver.
The family lived at 30 Chorley St in 1861-71-81, just along the road from where John & Elizabeth were in 1851.
