General Notes
WARNING: This could be the John Mather b.1785 son of John and Jane, also weaver from Bolton & Deane who may have married Ann Whittle in 1826, so two families combined.
On 15 Apr 1811, John and his sister Jane had a double marriage. John Married Ann Coup and Jane Married Thomas Taylor of Deane.
John and Ann had their children baptised at Deane, altholugh they lived in Great Bolton. John was a weaver.
In 1841, John and Ann (55 & 50) were in Nobel Street, West Bolton with Jane (25), John (15), Thomas (15) and Wright (13). His married daughter Elizabeth Crompton and family were living with them.
In 1851, John and Ann (67 & 64) were living at 31 Nobel Street, West Bolton with sons Thomas (23), Wright (21); and Ann Howcroft (aged 9, lodger), their grandaughter, the daughter of Mary. Nobel Street is off Derby Street, SW bolton.
