James Mather

James was born in 1815 in Middleton and his baptism took place on September 11th, 1815 at St. Leonard (Middleton).¹

James' father was Richard Mather and his mother was Sarah (Sally) Stewart. His paternal grandparents were James Mather and Alice Collinge. He had five brothers and a sister, named John, Richard, William, Luke, Moses and Ann. He was the oldest of the seven children. He died about 1856.
