Abraham was born in 1804 in WestLeigh and his baptism took place on June 2nd, 1804 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Leigh).1  Abraham's father was Nathan Mather and his mother was Jane (Jenny) Birchenhead. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Matthew, Thomas, Sarah, Betty and Mary.  He was the second youngest of the six children. He had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named John, Abraham, Abraham, James and Peggy.  He died at the age of 3 in July 1807 in WestLeigh.  He was buried on July 26th, 1807 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Leigh).2
