John Lomax

John was born in 1830 in Breightmet.¹

John's father was James Lomax and his mother was Betty Mather. His paternal grandparents were Richard Lomax and Mary Kenyon; his maternal grandparents were John Mather and Ann Brabin. He had five brothers and a sister, named Richard, Henry, James, Thomas, James and Mary. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 30 in 1860 in Tonge-with-Haulgh.²

General Notes
- There is no baptism for John, but he is with his parents James and Betty at Breightmet in 1841 (11) and 1851 (aged 21).
  
  It is unlikely he is the illegitimate John Lomas of same age who married Margaret Bradley in 1853.
  
  John may have died in 1860, aged 30. There is a Lanc-BMD record, but no GRO death record.
