Samuel Lewis

Samuel was born in 1837 in Shocklach and his baptism took place there on January 15th, 1837.¹²

Samuel's father was Thomas Lewis and his mother was Mary Mullock. His maternal grandparents were Richard Mullock and Jane Richards. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Richard, Robert, Elizabeth and Mary. He was the fourth oldest of the five children.

General Notes
- From 1863, after they married, the family lived at Hanmer where the first 3 children where born, and in 1866 moved to Bangor, with births registered at Wrexham.
  
  In 1871 Samuel and Mary Ann (34 & 31) were farming 10 acres at Green Lane, Bangor, Flintshire. They had Frances Dora (7), Albert John (5), Mynna (4), Georgina (2) and Marg't Emma (11 months).
  
  In 1881, Samuel and Mary Ann (43 & 41) were still at Green Lane, now a farmer and dealer. They had Frances (17), Albert J (15), Mynnie (14), Georgina (12) and Margaret A (10), Beatrice (9), Mary J (7), Jessie (5), Samuel (4) and Frederick W (1).
  
  In 1891 Samuel is a Cattle Dealer (53) with wife Mary A (51). Samuel Mulluck (13), Frederick Williams (11), Ruth L (9). All the older children have left home.
