Sarah Ann Hurst

Sarah was born in 1842 in Stalybridge.¹ Sarah's father was Thomas Hurst and her mother was Ann Brereton. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Bruerton and Ann Vickers. She had a brother and three sisters, named James, Jane, Hannah and Elizabeth. She was the oldest of the five known children.
