Peter Howarth of Lower Darwen and Grace married in 1615, yet their oldest son and heir was Thomas born 1634. They must have had several infant deaths (some we know were baptised). Their senond son and heir was Richard.
Peter Haworth was a Governor of the Grammar School at Blackburn in 1647 (and great nephew of Peter Haworth, of Thurcroft, who died in 1600,
Peter probably had a brother James, living in Lower Darwen in 1636
Peter died in 1677 in "possessed of landed property in Lower Darwen and elsewhere, which had descended to him by lawful succession or grant from his father, Thomas Haworth". His Will, dated 13 April 1677, was proved at Chester, 30 May. In it the testator names his wife, Grace, his eldest son and heir Thomas, and his three younger sons, Richard, James, and John. Richard and James, the second and third sons, were his executors, and he appointed William Yates, of Blackburn, Gent. his overseer.
