Jane was born on July 3rd, 1817 in Edgworth and her baptism took place on September 26th, 1817 at Edgworth Independent.1 2  Jane's father was William Cooper and her mother was Anne Rostron. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, William, Joseph, Jonathan, David, Charles, Elizabeth and Priscilla.  She was the third youngest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 29 on October 24th, 1846 in Edgworth.3
