William Brooks

William was born on September 12th, 1883 in Sharples.¹

William's father was Charles Brooks and his mother was Ann Price. His paternal grandparents were James Brooks and Alice Mather. He had six brothers named Joseph, James, John, Charles, George and Robert. He was the sixth oldest of the seven children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Thomas, Samuel, Ernest and Mary. He died at the age of 72 on March 2nd, 1956 in Massachusetts (MA). His burial was in March 1965 in Massachusetts (MA).²

- William never married. Reportedly, he lived with his brother George and his wife Agnes until George died in 1956, and then lived with niece Eliza Brooks Caron until his death.

  Obituary: William Brooks of 1259 Somerset Ave., Dighton, died Tuesday in Morton Hospital after a short illness. He was 81. Born in Bolton, England, son of the late Charles and Ann (Price) Brooks, he was educated in schools in England, and had lived in Dighton for the past 55 years. A retired textile worker, he was last employed by the Harodite Finishing Co. for 14 years. He had also previously worked in the Lincoln Paper Mill. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, North Dighton.
