Alice was James and Alice's first daughter, and was named after her mother and grandmother.
Alice was with her parents at 1851 and 1861
Alice had left the family home and married by 1871 (aged 20). She probably married 1868 or 1869 (several possible marriages in Bolton). Most likely is Alice A Brooks to Francis Smith in Q3/1869 (register office for non-conformists) but not Alice Brooks to William Bromley in Q1/1868 as she was 39 in 1881 so too old.
In 1871, Frank and Alice Smith (21 & 20) were at 6 Simpson Street, earlier home to our Mather Family. John Mather (71 a haridresser was at no.2).
