Ann's father was Joseph (Joe) Boocock and her mother was Eliza Roebuck. Her maternal grandparents were John Roebuck and Rebecca Tate. She had a brother and three sisters, named John, Mary, Charlotte and Martha. She was the oldest of the five children. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Alfred, Joshua, Sarah and Emma.
