Emilia was born on December 1st, 1866.1   Emilia's father was August Wilkening and her mother was Sophia Grote.  Her paternal grandparents were Hans Henry Wilkening and Engel S.M. Hasemann; her maternal grandparents were Grote and Elizabeth Dralle. She had two brothers and four sisters, named August, Henry, Sophia, Augusta, E.S. and Louise.  She was the second oldest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 59 on February 2nd, 1926 in Hamel, Madison County, Illinois.1
