Vicey was born in 1858 in Alabama, USA.1   Vicey's father was Moses Sanders and her mother was Caroline Reed.  Her paternal grandparents are James Sanders and Louisa R. Coleman; her maternal grandparents are Absalom Reed and Mary A.. She had five brothers and three sisters, named James Martin, Elisha L., Moses Nathaniel, Albert Meranas, Wesley Andrew "Andy", Martha Paralee, Mary Anne and Serena Adline.  She was the second oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 78 on March 10th, 1936 in Cordova, Walker, Alabama, USA.2
