Charlotte was born on 14-Mar-1913.  Charlotte's father was Michael Smollich and her mother was Emilie Bascheck.  Her paternal grandfather was Johann Smollich.  She is the fifth of seven children.  She had two brothers and four sisters, named Paul, Kurt, Helene, Hanna, Edith and Hildegard.
