Jacoba was born in 1757 in Veenendaal and her baptism took place there on February 6th, 1757.  Jacoba's father was Johannes Veenendaal and her mother was Trijntje Ros.  Her paternal grandparents were Berend Veenendaal and Jannigje/Jannechien van Ravenswaaij. She had a brother and four sisters, named Berend, Jannetje, Cornelia, Berendina and Hendrikje.  She was the youngest of the six children.
