Berendina was born in 1752 in Veenendaal and her baptism took place there on March 19th, 1752.  Berendina's father was Johannes Veenendaal and her mother was Trijntje Ros.  Her paternal grandparents were Berend Veenendaal and Jannigje/Jannechien van Ravenswaaij. She had a brother and four sisters, named Berend, Jannetje, Cornelia, Hendrikje and Jacoba.  She was the third youngest of the six children.
