Dirkje was born on August 12th, 1792 in Durgerdam.  Dirkje's father was Jan Geert Damstra and her mother was Aafke Wiebes.  Her paternal grandparents were Geert Jans Damstra and Trijntje Pieters. She had a brother named Geert Jans.  She was the younger of the two children.
