Jan Geert was born on February 14th, 1745 in Spijk.1  Jan Geert's father was Geert Jans Damstra and his mother was Trijntje Pieters. He had a sister named Aaltje Geerts.  He was the younger of the two children. He had a half-sister named Trijntje.  He died at the age of 63 in 1808 in Durgerdam.
