Anna was born in 1826 in Saint Paul in the Bail, Lincoln, England and her christening took place on November 9th, 1826 in Saint Paul in the Bail Church, Lincoln, England.  Anna's father was Richard Rack and her mother was Anne Skidmore.  Her paternal grandparents were William Rack and Sarah Mumby. She had six brothers and two sisters, named John, Thomas, Richard, Richard, William, Frederick, Sarah and Mary.  She was the youngest of the nine children.
