Thomas was born in 1745 in Holton Le Clay, Lincoln, England and his christening took place there on May 4th, 1745.  Thomas' father was William Rack and his mother was Anne Sommerscales. He had three brothers named John, William and Mathew.  He was the youngest of the four children.
