Mary was born in 1776 in Killingholme, Lincoln, England and her christening took place there on June 16th, 1776.  Mary's father was Thomas Rack and her mother was Mary Farrer.  Her paternal grandparents were William Rack and Anne Sommerscales. She had three brothers named Willy, Thomas and John.  She was the youngest of the four children.
