George was born in 1875 in Great Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England. George's father was Mr Robert Freeston and his mother was Mrs Lucy Ann Roe. His paternal grandparents were Mr William Freeston and Mrs Mary Kirk; his maternal grandparents were Mr Nicholas Roe and Mrs Ann Bullivant. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Robert, Frank, Joe, Ernest, Harry, Annie, Nellie, Alice, Lucy and Ruth. He was the oldest of the eleven children. He died due to Typhoid Fever / Syncope at the age of 33 on July 23rd, 1908 in Great Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England.
