Henry was born in 1809 in Algarkirk, Lincolnshire, England and his baptism took place on January 2nd, 1809 in St Peter and St Paul Church, Algarkirk, Lincolnshire, England.  Henry's father was Mr John Clark and his mother was Mrs Mary NK. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Benjamin, Jonathan, John, John, Charles, Ann and Mary.  He was the second youngest of the eight children.
