Alfred William Varcoe Clark 
Alfred was born in 1881. Alfred's father was Frederick Clark and his mother was Mary Lavinia Varcoe. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Prior Clark and Rebekah Porter; his maternal grandparents were William Varcoe and Elizabeth Nancarrow. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Emily, Alice, John, Emma, Emma, James, Ellen, Matilda and Chen. He was the fifth youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 57 in 1938. He was buried in Rangiora.-
