Sarah was born on September 22nd, 1840 in Beer, Devon.  Sarah's father was William Boalch and her mother was Harriet Green.  Her paternal grandfather was William Hodge Boalch and her paternal grandmother is Phoebe Litton. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Robert, William, William, James, Phoebe, Anna, Harriet, Mary and Elizabeth.  She was the youngest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 88 on August 5th, 1929 in Totnes, Devon.
