Charles was born in 1680.  Charles' father was Christian_V and his mother was Charlotte Amelia.  His paternal grandparents were Frederick_III and Sophia Amelia.  He was the second of three children.  He had two brothers named Frederick_IV and William.  He died at the age of 49 in 1729.
