Raphael was born on December 3rd, 1839 in Buchau Federsee, Donaukreis, Wuttemberg.  Raphael's father was Abraham Einstein and his mother was Helene Moos (Einstein).  His paternal grandparents were Ruppert Einstein and Rebecka Obernauer (Einstein).  He had four brothers and two sisters, named August, Heinrich, Hermann, Jacob, Jette and Rika.  He was the oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 2 on January 15th, 1842.
