August was born on December 23rd, 1841.  August's father was Abraham Einstein and his mother was Helene Moos (Einstein).  His paternal grandparents were Ruppert Einstein and Rebecka Obernauer (Einstein).  He had four brothers and two sisters, named Raphael, Heinrich, Hermann, Jacob, Jette and Rika.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 69 on April 14th, 1911 in Tuebingen.
