Robert, known as Bobby Jr., was born in January 1954.  Bobby Jr.'s father was Robert (Bobby) Francis Kennedy and his mother is Ethel S Skakel.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph P. Kennedy and Rose Elizabeth Fitzgerald.  He had six brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, David, Michael, Christopher, Max, Douglas, Kathleen, Mary, Mary and Rory.  He is the third oldest of the eleven children.

Bobby Jr. and Emily were married on April 3rd, 1982 in Bloomington, Indiana.  They were divorced on March 25th, 1994 in Dominican Republic.  They have a son and a daughter, named Robert and Kathleen.
