Barth was born on November 26th, 1906 in Dubuque, IA.  Barth's father was William Matthew O'Loughlen and his mother was Esther Ina Barth.  His paternal grandparents were Patrick Michael O'Loughlin and Mary; his maternal grandparents are John Henry Barth and <Unknown>.  He had a brother and two sisters, named Matthew, Elizabeth and Mary.  He was the second oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 57 on February 9th, 1964 in Everett, WA.
