    Born In Iowa At Dubuque; Dies in Iowa

    L. Gaspar Pioneer Merchant of Northwest
    Lambert Gaspar, born near Dubuque Iowa, March 20 1854, but a resident of Northwest Iowa ever since 1880, died at his family home in East Orange Township last Friday at four o'clock AM.
    Mr. Gaspar had been in failing health ever since last December and the past few weeks failed rapidly.
    He grew to young manhood near Dubuque but in 1880 came across the state and started a general merchandise store at the inland town of Quorn in Plymouth county. Three years later the railroad was built but came only within three miles of Quorn, so the town was moved to the railroad and became the present community of Kingsley.
    With his brothers Peter and John, Mr. Gaspar conducted the store for eighteen years serving as marshal
    Of Kingsley, He Married Miss Julia Meyer at LeMars, the wedding taking place October 11, 1883. Nine children were born to them and all but one survives their father, Thomas dying in infancy.
    The family moved to a farm near Kingsley in 1900 and seven years later came and located in Sioux county on their present farm in East Orange Township. Mr. Gaspar is survived by his widow.
    The eight children are J L Gaspar and Will Gaspar both of Orient SD, N W Gaspar, Orange City, Fay, Miss Lucy, Bernard and Lawrence at home and Miss Betty, Alton. Two brothers Michael of Alton and Peter of Sioux City also survive.
    Mr. Gaspar was a community builder and always active until the latter years of his life in everything for the betterment of his community. He helped build the Farmers elevator at Pierson and was one of the founders of the Farmers elevator at Pierson and was one of the founders of the Farmers elevator at Granville. Since living in this country he was a member of
    St Joseph's parish at Granville. He took and active and leading part in every movement in which he was interested, was exceptionally well informed on all questions and saw far ahead. He was a man of good judgment.
    Funeral services were conducted Monday morning a St Joseph's church at Granville by Rev Illg, a nephew of the deceased. John H Meyer of Mason City was in charge or arrangements in the church
    All of the children were present at the funeral as well as great number of other relatives.

Joseph Lambert Gaspar
Joseph Lambert was born on July 16th, 1884 in Kinsley, IA.  He died at the age of 82 on January 31st, 1967 in Sioux Falls, SD.  His burial was in February 1967 in Huntimer, SD.

Nick was born on October 14th, 1885.  He died at the age of 96 in 1981.
