Nicholas, known as Nick, was born on October 14th, 1885.  Nick's father was Lampert Gaspard and his mother was Julia Meyer.  His paternal grandparents were Nicholas J Gaspard and Catherine Welter.  He had six brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, Bill, Thomas, Michael, Bernard, Lawrence, Lucy and Julia.  He died at the age of 96 in 1981.
