John McVay

John was born in September 1859 in Greysouthen, Cumberland. John's father was William McVay and his mother was Ann Heslop. His paternal grandparents were Henry McVay and Frances Hurst; his maternal grandparents are Thomas Heslop and Sarah. He has four brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Henry, James, Joseph, Ann, Frances and Elizabeth. He is the second oldest of the eight children.
