Male William McVay

William was born about 1831 in Greysouthen, Cumberland.  William's father was Henry McVay and his mother was Frances Hurst.  His paternal grandparents are Hugh McVay and Ann Wilkinson; his maternal grandparents are John Hurst and Frances Unknown.  He had three brothers and three sisters, named Henry, Joseph, James, Mary, Frances and Hannah.  He was the oldest of the seven children.  He died in September 1888 in Cockermouth RO.
