Jacob was born on April 1st, 1808 in Ancaster Township, Wentworth County, Ontario, Canada.  Jacob's father was Jacob Miller and his mother was Elizabeth Dickhaut (Miller). He had two sisters named Margaret and Susan.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 57 on October 29th, 1865.  He was buried in Fisk Cemetery, Viola Township.
