    The following is the last will and testament of Jacob Miller who died on November 16, 1848. The will was recorded on March 1, 1849. (The original documents are in the Archives of Ontario as accession
    #19527.)
    (I obtained a copy of the will and have typed it as it was written, to the best of my ability, as it was hand written and extremely hard to make out in some places. The copy I have does not have Jacob's actual signature. I obtained a tracing of his actual signature from a micro film of the Surrogate Court Records in which his will was shown with his actual signature./JM
    A Memorial to be registered permanent to the Statute in such case made and provided of the Probate of the last Will and Testament of the late Jacob Miller of the Township of Ancaster County of Wentworth District of Gore and Province of Canada Yeoman* deceased, which said Probate is written in the following words I Jacob Miller of the Township of Ancaster County of Wentworth District of Gore Province of Canada Yeoman do make and publish this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former-Wills by me at any time heretofore made. As to such Wordly estate as it has pleased God to intrust me with I dispose of the same as follows first I direct that all my Debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my decease as possible out. of the first monies that shall come into the hands of my Executors hereafter to be named. Secondly I give and grant unto my beloved Daughter Catherine Book All that certain parcel or tract of land lying and being the north half of lot number forty two in the fifth Concepion*of the Township of Ancaster containing by as measurement. One hundred and five acres be the same more or less with all the appurtenances thereinto belonging or in anywise appurtaining andthat my Executors shall make such conveyance as the law may require¬Thirdly—I do will and direct that all my other Real Estate be sold by my Executors within two years after my decease either at public or-private Sale consisting of lot number forty one in the fifth concepion of Ancaster containing by as measurement two hundred acres be the same more or less also the South half of Lot! Number forty two in the third Concepion of Ancaster my present homestead containing by as measure-ment.One hundred acres more or less and also all my personal property whether it consists of fanning Stock Horses Cows Oxen Sheep Calves Waggons Sleighs Plows lamps Saddles Bridles farming utensils that may then-be upon the said farms at my decease shall be sold by my Executors at public Auction within one year after my decease to the highest bidder. Fourthly— I will and direct that the proceds of the above named Sales whether it consists of real estate or personal property
