    The following is his obituary, which appeared in the Dixon newspaper; March 13, 1908
    The funeral of D.G. Miller was held at Steward today, Mr. Miller having died Tues. nite at his home in Reynolds Town-ship as the result of a stroke of paralysis sustained recently. Mr. Miller was one of the early settlers in this section having come with his parents from the place of his birth in the county of Brant, Ontario, when 2 yrs. of age, the date of his birth being April 6, 1845. He worked on his father's farm as soon as he was large enough and helped in its management until his father's death. In March 1866, he was married to Miss Margaret Schultz, and to them ten child-ren were born. At the time of his marriage he settled on a farm in Reynolds township which he has since owned and occupied, developing it from a tract of wild prairie land into a highly productive farm. Mr. Miller was a man highly regarded by his associates. He served his community as highway commissioner and township clerk and at the time of his death was a member of the Inlet Swamp Drainage Commission.
