Le Roux was born on August 12th, 1957. Le Roux's father was Paul Johannes van Blerk and his mother was Veronica Louisa Le Roux. His paternal grandparents were Petrus Gerhadus Louw van Blerck and Sarah Margaretha Joubert. He has a brother and two sisters, named Gerhard, Louisa and Paulette. He is the youngest of the four children.
