George was born in 1688.  George's father was Thomas Martin and his mother was Margery  Mendenhall.  His paternal grandparents were Edward Martin and Mary Martin; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Mendenhall and Joan Stroud  Stroads. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named Moses, Thomas, Mary, Rachel, Hannah, Sarah, Elinor, Marjoy and Susan.  He was the third youngest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 92 on June 22nd, 1780.
